SEEKING RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The Los Angeles General Medical Center/USC Emergency Medicine Program is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Program Director starting in the 2024 academic year. Our historic program was established in 1971 and has since trained over 800 emergency physicians and leaders, practicing all over the world. Our graduates receive exceptional clinical training while serving the mission of improving the health and lives of our East Los Angeles community.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have:

– An M.D. or D.O. in the field or foreign equivalent

– Current certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM)

– Minimum of 3 years of graduate medical education and/or administrative experience (preferably as an Associate or Assistant Program Director)

– Eligibility for full medical licensure in California

– Ongoing involvement in scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications and proven administrative and leadership skills

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

– 4-year program training 20 residents per year (a total of 80 residents)

– A stable and strong APD core with highly experienced support staff

– Multiple fellowship and professional development opportunities for our residents (Administration, EMS, Medical Education, Research, Social Emergency Medicine, Toxicology, Ultrasound, and more)
